I really don't get into a lot of the princess Disney movies. The actress who played Snow White had a voice that drove me nuts, like I was scraping my nails on a chalkboard. The best Disney movie in my opinion was Aladdin. I also liked the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Mine is a tie between Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin. Lilo and Stitch definitely gets an honorable mention, because Lilo is cute. As far as old-school Disney, the best ones are Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Lady and the Tramp. As far as I'm concerned, old-school Disney, and current Disney may as well be two completely different companies.

Lady and the Tramp, Cinderella, Snow White, and the Little Mermaid.

I find my best disney movies are as follows, the 101 damlations, lion king, lion king 2, and my current favourite, the wild. I know that's a CGI based movie, but it's hillarious. What I always wonder is, what would the wild be like if it was not aimed at children? would it be more racy than it is? Another thing, the soundtrack to the wild is briliant, I have been playing a song called good enough by a band called lifehouse for ever more after hearing it featured in the movie. the scene is the one, for those who know the film, where Ryon, a lion cub, has finally been driven crazy by his father, Sampson's, stories of the wild, the young cub wanting to find his roar. the scene in which the song Good enough features is one where Ryon is alone and miserable, he walks down a path and sees a poster of his father with the caption "wild," This makes Ryon decide finally to enter a shipping container which he'd seen and atempt to go to the wild. meanwhile, Sampson is miserable, as he realises his stories about him coming from the wild are soon to be exposed as lies, he was a circus cub, and didn't want Ryon to know this, hense the stories Sampson told his cub. Sampson reaches ryon's favourite tree lie up, and realises his cub isn't there any more. that's one off the most thought provoking scenes in the movie for me.

Definitely Mary Poppins. Though I'll get all nostalgic and cooey about the Little Mermaid, even though it did unforgivable, terrible things to a beautiful story. Ditto for Beauty and the Beast.

If we are including Disney/Pixar films then hands down it has got to be CARS. I've enjoyed most all of the Disney/Pixar films.

Now if we are not then my favorite would be a tie between Lady & The Tramp or Fox and the Hound.

The only other pure Disney movie I like is the Lilo & Stitch movies.

Post 15 by Big Pawed Bear (letting his paws be his guide.) on Thursday, 25-Jan-2007 6:43:41

another disney movie I like is lion king two. it might be a love story between two cubhood sweethearts, but take the disney breaks off, and you could ee that movie doing so much more.

Post 16 by guitargod1 (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 26-Jan-2007 13:35:59

If we are including picksar, I loved finding nemo! A really cute movie. The other picksar films are good however i haven't seen cars yet so I'm not sure on that one. as far as non picksar disney films, robin hood was probably my favourite one.

Wo! Ok, here goes. My favorit live-action Disney movie starring humans is Mary Poppins. It has a great message, think outside of the box and you will enjoy life more, never discount anything as impossible just because you've never seen it done, spend time with and raise your own kids, damn it, don't rely on someone else to do it for you and of course "a spoon full of sugar makes the mediscin go down, the medescin go down, the medescin go down, yes, a spoon full of sugar makes the medescin go down, in the most delightful way." Plus it has great music to sing along with. It's great to be babysitting and watching a movie with the kids and to get them all singing along with you. My favorit live-action Disney movie starring animals is Homeward bound. The story is wonderful, the film is helarious, meaningful and touching. I always cry at the end when shadow tells Chance, "You've learned everything you need Chance. Now all you need to learn is how to say goodbye." The sound-track is amazing as well. It's a great orchestral work, a bit repedative, as it is a movie sound-track, but the orchestration is wonderful, the music is encredible and the rich images coupled with the awsum music is just stunning. My favorit annamated movie starring animals is the Lion King, because it's well annamated, funny, but not condescending, and at times deep and serious, , has great songs to sing along with and is just the cartoon lion verssion of Hamlet. YAY! Go Shakespeare! My favorit annamated film starring humans is a tie between Aladin, because of that awsum tiger, I wanna tiger and the seen where Jasmin releases the birds from their cage, and Pocohantis, because I loved the message, as stylized as it was and the nature and animals. They both have great music, with the voice overs for the female leads actually having beautiful singing voices and they both star "Disney Princesses" who are not blond. My all-time favorit Disney movie though is Beauty and the Beast. It closely paralels Phantom of the Opera in a lot of ways and Belle is awsum. She reads, she sings, she takes care of her father, she has a great sense of humer, she's a brunette, she can look beyond appearances, doesn't always do what she's supposed to and she gets major points from me for not being at all attracted to the athletic yet dull, "hansum" yet egotistical, Gaston. When I was little I'd say, "I wanna be Arial, because she can sing and she has a cool name." I want to be Jasmin, because she has beautiful long black hair and a pet tiger." I want to be cinderella and marry a hansum prince charming." But now that I'm older I say "I want to be Belle, because she's tallented, intelligent, kind, open-minded generous, compassionate and she doesn't take shit from any man."

I absolutely love The Little Mermaid when it comes to animated movies. In Pixar, I like Monsters, Inc. As for live action, the remake of Freaky Friday with Jamie Lee Curtis.

Post 29 by turricane (happiness and change are choices ) on Wednesday, 03-Jun-2009 9:26:21

as a rule, i'm not a fan of disney or their movies. Their political correctness makes me ill. All that aside, i do have favorite ones and here goes.

I love the original 101 dalmation cartoon movie. It has my favorite musical song of all time in it, which is the one about cruella deville.

The original little mermaid rocks. It has one of my favorite movie quotes in it "If you swim with sharks people will ttink you are a shark," from sebastian the crab.

Oh yes, the original cartoon of the jungle book. I love the song about bear necessities and another favorite movie quote is in it. It is when the buzzards or vultures are sitting in a tree going "whatdya want to do? I dunno. Whatdya want to do?"

Wow, what a post. I'm a big fan of Disney because I grew up with it and had always loved it. I don't know if the movies they make now are as good as the ones from before the 2000s, but here we go with my little list. Oh, and for whoever posted the one about Anastasia, that isn't a Disney movie. Some people think that is, the land before time,, an American tale and thumbalina, stuff like that. It's similar, but not the same thing. It's not people's faults that they don't know, they think that Disney makes all the movies that have singing in it and all that. But those are cute to. Anyway, on with my list. As for animated ones, I really like, The little mermaid, sleeping beauty, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Snow White, Aladdin, The Jungle Book, Atlantis, Beauty and the beast, The Lion King, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, The Fox and the hound, and The AristoCats is cute to. Anyway, as for live action ones, I really like white fang, homeward bound, honey I shrunk the kids, honey I blew up the kid, both national treasures, pirates of the caribbean, mighty joe young, the shaggy dog, the kid with Bruce Willis in it, the parent trap, and freaky Friday. I really like a lot of the movies, but I think Disney was at it's best when they had to rebuild the studio in the 80's at made the little mermaid. It changed everything. I just wish in the animated movies they still had singing and stuff besides the sequels. But that's another topic. Anyway, so there's my little list. I'm glad we all agree on a few movie titles.

Songbird83 I like all the ones you listed as well. Disney was at its best during that time. I also like the rescuers and the sequel the rescuers down under. I love all the disney movies fom the 80'sthrough the 90's after that they seemed to change.

The Jungle Book
Lady and the Tramp
The Rescuers and Down Under
The Little Mermaid
The Lion King
The Fox and the Hound
the Lilo & Stitch movies (especially the first 2)
Homeward Bound
Monsters, Inc.

Cindarella

I think that's it, lol.
